On Wednesday, October 5 2016, at 12.00, the deadline for the submission of the revised applications of the candidate Greek cities for the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2021 expired. The revised bid-books were submitted at the premises of the Directorate of International Relations and European Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports / 17, Ermou St. – Athens.
The three (3) shortlisted cities from the preselection meeting (26 February 2016) submitted the revised bid-books and are, in alphabetical order, the following: Elefsina, Kalamata and Rhodes.
The bid-books will be sent by mail and by post to the Selection Committee and the European Commission.
The final selection meeting of the three (3) candidate Greek cities will take place on the10-11 November 2016, at a centrally located hotel in Athens, under the supervision of the Department of International Relations and European Union of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
On Friday, November 11 2016 at 12:15 the name of the candidate city which will be nominated with the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2021 will be announced during a press announcement at the auditorium of the Ministry of Culture and Sports, at the presence of the authorities of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
